Child Welfare

The welfare of all the children and young people who play and train with our Club, is our Club’s top priority.

All children and young people (i.e. anyone under the age of 18) who play and train with our Club (and those who play against our teams) have a right to be able to take part in an enjoyable and safe environment and to be protected from poor practice and abuse (whether physical, verbal or emotional) regardless of their age, gender, disability, culture, language, racial origin, religious beliefs or sexual orientation.

Our Club acknowledges its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of every child and young person who has been entrusted to its care and is committed to working to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all of its members.

Our Club’s Purpose, Beliefs and Values have been designed to facilitate and support the creation and maintenance of such an environment, but the responsibility for developing such an environment must be shared between every adult and child involved in our club.

Our Club will not tolerate any forms of abuse and anyone found to have acted abusively (whether an adult or child) will be dealt with in accordance with the Club’s "Guidelines for dealing with breaches of conduct" (see below).

Listed below are several important documents related to Child Welfare and Child Protection (including our Club’s Child Protection Policy). I hope that these will provide you with the assurance and information you need regarding Child Welfare arrangements at Larkhall Athletic Youth. However, should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me (in confidence).

Best wishes,

Tony Day, Club Child Welfare Officer and Co-chairman
