Under 9s News 2008

UNDER 9S NEWS UPDATE

Hi All

Following a really successful first night of training, and being surprised by the number of children we now appear to have in the Under 9s, we are not going to be able to register all the children in both the leagues. Consequently, in discussion with Robert, we have allocated squads, as listed below. Please note your squad, and the contact details of the Manager. I will be giving all the children a copy of this mail on Wednesday.

Also, winter training times have just been confirmed, 6-7pm, St Marks School astro pitch (OUTSIDE) under floodlights, from 1st October!
I will supply maps and parking instructions on the 24th. Also, we are aware that for a couple of parents, this will provide a bit of a headache, with the under 8s training indoors at Ralph Allen from 6-7pm. Please let me know if this is the case, and maybe we can share lifts etc.

Finally just a reminder that all subs are now due. Total payable is £90 for the year, minus any deposit you have paid. If in doubt, I have the list of who has paid what. Siblings receive a £20 discount so only pay £70 in total. I have kit vouchers to give out to those that didnt get them last year, but I can only issue these on receipt of all fees.

Under 9s WELCOME

Dear All

Hello, welcome, and sorry for the delay in contacting you! We were hoping to be able to send out a complete introduction letter to all matters football related, incl dates, times and venues of training and matches, but as some of that remains unconfirmed at present, we thought we should go with what we do know now and fill in the gaps ASAP! Thanks for your patience.

Firstly just to reassure all, we still have everybodys deposit cheque, and will not now cash them until September, the Summer hols cost too much as it is!

It is our intention to resume training on WEDNESDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER at the playing fields adjacent to Lansdown Park and Ride, between 6.15 and 7.30 pm. This will be our training venue for the first few weeks until we move to our winter venue which is yet to be confirmed. However we will confirm these arrangements as soon as all parties involved in their planning return from their holidays! Just to remind newcomers, we will always attend training sessions, regardless of the weather, and we ask that in the event of heavy rain or other unfriendly football weather, you do not assume that the full training session will take place, as it may be necessary to shorten the time we battle through. In this case you need to be there to collect your child or have made other arrangements for their collection. Many thanks!

With regard to matches…..here goes! We need to register all the children with both the Mid Wilts league, and the Midsomer Norton league. This will give us and them the maximum amount of chances to play as many matches as the final squad number allows.However, to achieve this requires some careful planning, and further action by all. Basically, we need two passport size photos of your child and a copy of their birth certificate ( to confirm their age) and parents signatures on two registration forms! We thought the easiest way to do all this would be to ask all parents to attend the first training sesson on 10th Sept and to bring with them the photos and birth cert copy, IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY SUPPLIED THIS. I will send individual mails to all to confirm what you have already sent us, as we appreciate that was some time ago. We will bring the relevant forms for you to sign. If you know you are not going to be able to attend on the 10th, please let me know and we will make alternative arrangements.

Similarly, we need to make arrangements to distribute kit vouchers for those that did not receive them last year ( as they are only issued every two years and allow you 50% discount on the purchase of shirt, shorts and socks) and the balance of your child/rens playing fees. We thought maybe we should do that the following week, Sept 17th. Again, if that doesnt work for you, please let me know.

Finally, just to introduce ourselves, I am Kerry Headen and was Chair of the under 8s committee last year, and have moved up with my son Connor this year. I am happy to discuss a replacement however, if you would be interested! We have received several kind offers of help and assistance through the Application forms, and I will be in touch with those parents soon to discuss this further. You have been warned! The Team Managers for this Season are Matt Headen ( spot the connection!) and Robert Curran ( whose son Brendan is also an under 9 this year).

Email is certainly the easiest method of contact for us, especially when it comes to arranging match fixtures and availability, so plesae let us know if your details change. We will also try to copy all relevant messages onto the general Larkhall YAFC website in the hope no-one misses anything.
