Larkhall U10’s - Hawks

HAWKS 3 - 2 Bath Arsenal

For the second week in a row The Hawks provided another fine footballing display that resulted in a well earned victory against one of their local rivals.
The first goal had a large slice of luck as the Bath Arsenal keeper tried to clear the ball but only managed to hit Jack, the ball rebounding into the net.
This was followed by some nice passing football with Zico, getting himself into some good positions and on the end of some well created chances.

Bath Arsenal were by no means out of the game and played some good football themselves but Connor and Nathan, proving very hard to beat in defence, kept their chances to minimum. Archie, the keeper for the first half, had little to do. They did, however, earn a corner which resulted in a fine headed equalizer.
Bath Arsenal started to put on some pressure in the last parts of the first half and the midfield of Benny, Josh R & Jack showed they could defend as well as attack.
The second half saw some changes, with Josh S coming on, Jack being pushed up front and Benny replacing Archie in goal.
Jack made the most of his new position scoring his 2nd goal.
Josh S and Archie settled straight into the game and both displayed some fine passing and creativity with Josh R covering every inch of the pitch (not for the first time this season).
Unfortunately, despite this good play, Bath Arsenal managed to score an equalizer.
This set up an exciting last 10 minutes with both teams trying hard to get the winner.
The winner did arrive in dramatic style. Jack, picking the ball up on his own half way line, beat 3 players on his way to the by line. It looked as though he had run out pitch but managed to shoot from an unlikely angle. His shot found the top right hand corner of the goal!
The Hawks saw out the remaining of the game to ensure victory was theirs.
A great effort and some fine football. You did yourselves proud. Well done boys!

Bath City Youth 3 HAWKS 2

An exciting game between these closely matched sides

The HAWKS showed great effort and determination throughout this hard fought  match.

Once we scored to make it 3-2, we put on a lot of pressure in the last 5 minutes and were very unlucky not to snatch an equaliser.

I was very proud of you all!

Kestrels v Midsomer Norton

Midsomer Norton 1 Larkhall Kestral 0

The Kestrals were narrowly beaten in an evenly matched game. Arthur made a good  league debut. Sarah made some effective tackles but  confident saves from Brendan and the Midsomer Norton goalie resulted in a clean sheet at half time.

The second half was action packed with Midsomer Norton becoming increasingly dangerous.

Saxon and Sam fought bravely to keep possession and despite some good play by Josh , Joe, Louis and  fast running by Conor  the determined opposition grabbed a winning goal in the last minute of the game.

Falcons v Midsomer Norton

The Hawks gained their first win of the season with some exciting play. After shots being thwarted by the reliable Midsomer Norton Goalie for most of the first half, Morgan finally scored the first goal and then combined with Connor and Benny for his second goal to make it 0-2 at half time.

Plenty more shots at goal in the second half with Archie grabbing an opportunity from the goalie to make it 0-3.
Midsomer Norton then quickly struck back to make it 1-3 and we responded rapidly with Arian making it 1.4 at the final whistle.

Some great defending by Josh, Jack , Nathan and Zico and super team play developing from everyone.

Larkhall U10’s - Kestrels v Purnells

Kestrels 2 Purnells B 6

Purnells were quick to score and were 3 goals ahead before some great
running from Josh made it 1-3 at half time. Despite some good play
developing in attack and defence from Larkhall, Purnells scored their
fourth before Josh scored again to make it 2-4.

Purnells were
determined to thwart our opportunities and scored another 2 goals
before the final whistle.

Larkhall U10’s - Hawks v Purnells

Larkhall Hawks 2 Purnells A 3

Larkhall were narrowingly defeated after an exciting end to end game.

Purnells scored first with some concerted attacks. Stout defending
prevented them scoring again and Arian equalised just before half time.

Purnells then scored again and Morgan picked himself up after a goal
mouth stumble to equalise again. Despite some good passing developing
Purnells managed to score again near full time to win what was a very
close match.
