Larkhall U14 Girls 4 Swindon Town 1
Larkhall U14 Girls made a stylish start to the defensive of their Wiltshire County Cup defence as they beat Swindon Town 4-1 following a commanding performance.
After Becky Sartin fired into the side netting, the Larks took a deserved lead when the impressive Ellie Marden and Romany Lowe combined well to release Ellie Lyne, who outpaced the Swindon defence before crashing the ball into the bottom corner.
A fine save from Stacey Wall and strong defensive tackling from Becky Kersey, maintained the lead and then took control in the second half. Ellie Lyne doubled the lead after a good move involving Becky Sartin and Romany Lowe. Then Rebecca Jacobs capped an excellent performance as she cut in from the left, dribbled past two defenders and cracked the ball home.
Substitute Becky Roper made it 4-0 with a strong shot before Swindon scored a well worked consolation goal.

Larkhall U14 Girls 5 Marlborough 1
Saturday 12th December
The game started at a slow tempo and it took time to settle down and start to play football. After more than 10 minutes Romany won the ball in the middle and took on two players before turning and calmly placing the ball into the corner of the net. Under some defensive pressure Becky Kersey dribbled the ball out and was surrounded by three players, with a fabulous step over took the ball around them and laid the ball off to Ellie. Just before half time we scored another well worked goal with Romany taking the corner and Becky Sarten finishing from close range. Soon after half time Ellie made two very good individual runs through midfield to score from the edge of the area. Jess had a good game at right back and linked up well with Becky Roper who held the ball up well and made some good runs down the line to pass inside for Ellie. Stacey came out of goal in the second half and scored her first goal for Larkhall with a well placed shot from close range to make it 5-1. Eva made some impressive attacks down the right wing for part of the game and Izzie provided many of the first time passes to start the moves. Emillie also had a good solid game in defence and had a period up front supporting Romany in attack. In the final stages of the game , Romany in her first game in goal, palmed a fierce shot around the post for a corner.
Another good performance and an encouraging one in that another game has given some of the less experienced Girls a chance to gain experience and show what they have learnt in training into practice.
Our last training session of 2009 will be at Kingswood on Thursday at 6.30. We also have our last game of 2009 at the Royal High on Sunday 20th. Can we meet at 10.15 for an 11.00 KO. As it is the last game of 2009 and our Christmas match can i ask as many parents as possible attend to support the girls please.
Training will resume at Kingswood Upper Astro on Thursday 7th at 6.30
Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for 2010. Lets hope 2010 will be as good as 2009!

Larkhall 12 Trowbridge B 0
Saturday 28th November
Larkhall U14 Girls 12 Trowbridge B 0
The Girls started the game with composure and soon started to hold onto the ball and pass it around the pitch to each other. After a very good display of dribbling Ellie Lyne put us ahead after 3 minutes with a calmly finished goal. Soon after Ellie crossed in a perfect corner for Becky Roper to volley home her first league goal. Jess playing her first game played very well in defence and marked thier striker very tightly. In only her third league game Eva also showed some good skill on the ball taking on thier defence to cross the ball into the goal area for Becky. With a great display of passing we came off at half time 6-0 up.
The second half started as the first and and Ellie Marden came up the pitch from defence to score a well worked goal with some good touch and go passing from Becca Jacobs. Ellie then went on to score another from a free kick and was perfectly placed into the bottom corner. Ellie Lyne and Becca Jacobs passed he ball very well to each other and also switched the ball to the right wing for Becky Roper to take on players and supply Eva with some good chances. Eva went on to score 2 goals and 1 of them was a very good volley from the edge of the box.
Final Score: Larkhall 12 Trowbridge 0. E Lyne 6, E Smyth 2, B Roper 1, B Jacobs 1, E Marden 2

Match Report 15/11/09
Larkhall 8 Derry Hill 1
The midfield trio of Becca, Ellie and Becky Sarten played a great passing game today, holding onto the ball and passing the ball across the width of the pitch. Romany held the ball up well and distributed good passes into the path of the advancing midfielders to score several good goals before half time. Stacey didnt have much to do in the first half with strong defending from Ellie and Izzy. Freya came on after 20 mins and also made some good tackles and advancing runs into midfield. We went in at half time ahead 4-0. The second half started with a good tempo and Eva produced some good attacking runs down the right wing with Stacey equally matching her pace on the left. With good ball retention and the midfielders pressing forward more goals were scored in the second half. Becky Kersey made it very difficult for Derry Hill to move into the 18 yard box and again with some good tight marking we finished the game 8-1 winners. A very pleasing victory!
B Sarten 4, E Lyne 3 and R Lowe 1. Girl of the match - E Smyth
We do not have a game next week but our next match is on Saturday 28th of Novemeber against Trowbridge B. Please meet at Alice Park at 12.45
