Club Welfare arrangements

The new ISA arrangements

Last month, I posted an item about the proposed new Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) arrangements. My post explained that I was hoping to gain further clarification from the County Welfare Officer. That has not so far emerged. As soon as I have further information about how the ISA arrangements will affect volunteer coaches and officials at the club, I will pass this on.

Volunteer(s) urgently sought to assist with club Welfare Officer duties

So that I can scale down my volunteer commitments at the club and have more time to spend on my family and work commitments, I plan to step down as club welfare officer in mid December. I am therefore urgently trying to identify one or more volunteer (s) to take over from me as CWO. I believe that Richard Stone knows someone who may be interested, but the role is probably best shared, so if anyone else is interested in helping out with this role, please get in touch with me ASAP (tony@day1426.freeserve.co.uk). Further information about what’s involved can be found here.

Many thanks.

Please ensure that you arrive at least 15min prior to the kick off timings.

Can I also ask that as many of you in the first game arrive at 9:30am to help Lindy set up the goals and barriers.

Good luck to you all, and remember "play with PRIDE and have FUN!"

See you all in a couple of weeks

Kestrels v Midsomer Norton

Midsomer Norton 1 Larkhall Kestral 0

The Kestrals were narrowly beaten in an evenly matched game. Arthur made a good  league debut. Sarah made some effective tackles but  confident saves from Brendan and the Midsomer Norton goalie resulted in a clean sheet at half time.

The second half was action packed with Midsomer Norton becoming increasingly dangerous.

Saxon and Sam fought bravely to keep possession and despite some good play by Josh , Joe, Louis and  fast running by Conor  the determined opposition grabbed a winning goal in the last minute of the game.

Falcons v Midsomer Norton

Midsomer Norton 1 Larkhall Hawks 4

The Hawks gained their first win of the season with some exciting play. After shots being thwarted by the reliable Midsomer Norton Goalie for most of the first half, Morgan finally scored the first goal and then combined with Connor and Benny for his second goal to make it 0-2 at half time.

Plenty more shots at goal in the second half with Archie grabbing an opportunity from the goalie to make it 0-3.
Midsomer Norton then quickly struck back to make it 1-3 and we responded rapidly with Arian making it 1.4 at the final whistle.

Some great defending by Josh, Jack , Nathan and Zico and super team play developing from everyone.

Larkhall v Frome Sunday 4 October 09

Ladies and gents

Quick reminder that we have our first home game this Sunday.

If possible, can as many of you from the first game please be up at 9:30 to help set up the goals and borders.

May I also remind all of you (even though you are all fantastic) of our respect policy of encouragement to ALL players, officials and supporters!

Please look up the FA’s you tube page on RESPECT - its very sad and quite upsetting but worth watching!

See you all Sunday!!
